CEMS for Waste Incinerators

Continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) for waste incinerators of all sizes, combining extractive and in-situ gas analysers with an in-situ particulate analyser to measure total PM, NMVOC, HCl, HF, SO2, NO2 and CO against DOE emission limits.

Overview

About the CEMS for Waste Incinerators.

A continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) for waste incinerators measures the pollutants that incinerators of all sizes must report under DOE / EPA requirements. The system combines extractive gas analysers, in-situ gas analysers and an in-situ particulate analyser, with a data acquisition system (DAS) and data interface system (DIS) to record and transfer the results. Each pollutant can be measured with several analyser principles, extractive or in-situ, so the configuration can be chosen to suit the stack and the parameters required.

Features

  • Extractive gas analysers, in-situ gas analysers and in-situ particulate analysers
  • Measures total PM, NMVOC as total C, HCl, HF, SO2, NO2 and CO
  • Data acquisition system (DAS) and data interface system (DIS)
  • Choice of extractive or in-situ sampling for each gas

DOE / EPA requirements

  • Supplier listed as an appointed and approved company on the DOE / EPA website
  • TÜV / MCERTS certificate
  • Data acquisition system (DAS)
  • Data interface system (DIS)

Emission limits for waste incinerators (all sizes)

  • Total PM: 100 mg/m³
  • NMVOC as total C: 10 mg/m³
  • Hydrogen chloride (HCl): 40 mg/m³
  • Hydrogen fluoride (HF): 1 mg/m³
  • SO2: 50 mg/m³
  • NO2: 200 mg/m³
  • CO: 50 mg/m³

Measuring principles

  • SO2: extractive NDIR, NDUV, GFC, FTIR, PAS or fluorescence; in-situ DOAS, GFC or FTIR
  • NO2: extractive NDUV, PAS or fluorescence; in-situ DOAS
  • CO: extractive NDIR, GFC, FTIR or PAS; in-situ DOAS, GFC, FTIR or TLD
  • NMVOC: extractive PAS; in-situ DOAS
  • HCl and HF: extractive FTIR or PAS; in-situ DOAS, FTIR or TLD
  • Total PM / dust: extractive light scatter or beta absorption; in-situ transmissometry, triboelectric, double pass or single pass
