Who we are

This notice explains how LKS (M) Sdn. Bhd. (199801014005 (470134-U)) ("LKS", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data through this website, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) as amended. It applies to every visitor, wherever you are.

What we collect

• Enquiry form: your name, email address and message, and optionally your company and phone number, plus the topic and any product you are asking about.
• Messages you start yourself: if you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we receive the details you choose to share.
• Spam protection: when you use the enquiry form, Google reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and browser (such as your IP address, browser type and how you interact with the page) to check that you are not a bot.
• Website statistics: Google Analytics collects information about how you use the website, such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location (city or region), your device and browser type. It does not tell us who you are.
• Technical data: our servers briefly use your IP address to keep the website secure and to limit how often the enquiry form can be sent.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry, prepare quotations and provide technical advice or after-sales support.
• To keep records of our communication with you.
• To understand which pages and products are useful, so we can improve the website.
• To protect the website and the enquiry form from spam, abuse and attacks.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.

Who we share it with

• Google: reCAPTCHA (spam protection) and Google Analytics (website statistics). Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Service providers that host the website, protect it from attacks, store images and documents, and deliver email, only as needed to provide that service.
• Map tiles: when the map on our contact page loads, your browser requests map images from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address.
• WhatsApp: if you start a chat through WhatsApp, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these providers store or process data on servers in other countries. Where this happens, we use providers that protect personal data to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

Cookies and storage on your device

• Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID> to tell visits apart. They last up to two years.
• Google reCAPTCHA sets a cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) when the enquiry form is shown, to tell people and bots apart.
• Security: our hosting and security provider may set strictly necessary cookies that protect the website from attacks.
• Your preferences: blog articles remember your reading-mode and text-size choice in your browser's local storage.

We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can stop Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking reCAPTCHA cookies may stop the enquiry form from working; you can still reach us by phone or email.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond, maintain business records and meet legal obligations, then delete them. Website statistics are kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account and are then deleted automatically.

Security

We protect personal data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our systems and regular review of who can see enquiries.

Your choices and rights

Under the PDPA you may ask to access or correct the personal data we hold about you, to limit how we use it, or to withdraw your consent. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your local law, such as asking us to delete your data. Providing your details is voluntary, but without an email address or phone number we cannot reply to your enquiry.

We will answer your request within the time the law allows. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
