Temperature Instruments

Types

• Smart temperature transmitters: the microprocessor-based Models 21 and 22 accept Pt100 RTD, thermocouple, mV and ohm inputs, give 4–20 mA with HART, and offer optional flameproof or intrinsically safe approvals for hazardous areas.
• Humidity Transmitter: the HT series measures relative humidity from 10 to 100% RH and temperature with a thin-film capacitive sensor and Pt100, providing two-wire 4–20 mA outputs in wall, duct or separated IP65 versions.
• Subsea Temperature Monitoring: the STM system uses a submersible IP68 platinum resistance sensor from −200 to 350 °C, a 316 stainless steel wetted body rated up to 64 bar and manual or motorised cable reels up to 500 m.

How to choose

• Sensor type and measuring range: RTD, thermocouple or a dedicated probe.
• Output and communication: 4–20 mA alone or with HART for configuration and diagnostics.
• Hazardous area requirements, which call for flameproof or intrinsically safe versions.
• Mounting: wall, duct, thermowell or submersible on a cable reel.
