CEMS for Saw Mills

This continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) is configured for saw mills, where the monitored pollutants are total particulate matter (PM) and opacity. Dust and opacity are measured at the stack by in-situ analysers such as triboelectric and double-pass instruments, or by extractive analysers using light scatter or beta absorption. Analyser signals travel over 4–20 mA lines to a CEMS data interface system (DIS) computer, which forwards the data to the DOE/EPA server over TCP/IP. The system can also include extractive and in-situ gas analysers where further measurements are needed.
