Overview

About the WANI2001 Nickel Water Analyzer.

The WANI2001 nickel water analyzer is an online instrument dedicated to monitoring nickel in water samples. It uses spectrophotometry with diacetyl oxime as the colorimetric reagent: under acidic conditions nickel ions are oxidised to Ni(IV), which reacts with diacetyl oxime to form a soluble orange-yellow complex. A UV-VIS spectrophotometer measures the colour intensity, which is proportional to the nickel concentration in the sample. It is suited to long-term online monitoring in electroplating, metal processing, chemical, ceramic and glass industries.

Features

  • Diacetyl oxime spectrophotometric method with photoelectric measurement and low sample injection error
  • Measuring range 0 … 2 or 0 … 10 mg/l, customisable
  • Automatic chromaticity and turbidity compensation for real water samples
  • Hybrid or bubble agitation for thorough mixing of sample and reagents
  • Specially designed flow path to prevent blocking
  • All wetted parts specially tested for long service life
  • Reagent leak alarm with maintenance reminders
  • Self-diagnosis with on-screen fault alarms
  • One reagent set covers 250 measurements

How it works

  • The sample is acidified so nickel ions oxidise to Ni(IV)
  • Ni(IV) reacts with diacetyl oxime to form an orange-yellow complex
  • The spectrophotometer measures the colour, which is converted to nickel concentration

Applications

  • Electroplating processes
  • Metal processing
  • Chemical industries
  • Ceramic and glass production
