Extractive Dust Monitor DM10.14E

Model DM10.14E

Extractive dust monitor DM10.14E that measures stack dust by laser forward scattering in a heat-traced module, with a 0.05 mg/m³ detection limit, isokinetic pitot tube sampling and no moisture influence, suited to wet, high-humidity flue gas.

Overview

About the Extractive Dust Monitor DM10.14E.

The DM10.14E extractive dust monitor is a high-temperature, heat-traced system for measuring dust concentration in stacks with low-temperature, high-humidity flue gas, such as after wet scrubbers or wet desulphurisation. A jet pump draws flue gas through a heated sampling probe into the measuring module, where dust concentration is measured by laser forward scattering. Heat tracing through extraction, measurement and exhaust evaporates water droplets, so moisture neither affects the reading nor causes dust to block the gas path. The detection limit of 0.05 mg/m³ makes it suitable for ultra-clean emission monitoring.

Features

  • Laser forward scattering measurement with a low detection limit of 0.05 mg/m³
  • High-temperature heat tracing prevents dust agglomerating and blocking the gas path in wet gas
  • Isokinetic sampling by pitot tube, complying with technical conditions for stack dust samplers
  • Automatic zero at regular intervals and manual span calibration in the field
  • Automatic counter-blowing of the gas path and measuring module
  • 4–20 mA output and RS485 communication (RS232 optional)

How it works

  • A heated sampling probe extracts flue gas from the stack under the negative pressure of a jet pump
  • The heat-traced measuring module measures dust by laser forward scattering; the gas then returns to the stack
  • A micro differential pressure transmitter and pitot tube measure stack gas velocity and adjust the pump to keep sampling isokinetic
  • Solenoid valves and the control unit blow back the gas path and zero the analyser automatically
  • For maintenance checks the laser can be closed and a calibration block inserted for manual zero and calibration

Applications

  • Palm oil mills
  • Paper mills
  • Gas-fuelled boilers
  • Aluminium plants
  • Steel plants
  • Hot, wet stacks after scrubbers and wet desulphurisation
