Rotary Level Switch (RLS)

The rotary level switch is a paddle-type point level switch for powders and bulk solids. A synchronous motor drives the paddle shaft through a clutch. While the blade is free of material, the motor keeps rotating; when material covers the blade and causes resistance, the motor stops and the internal mechanism sends a contact signal at the same time. When the resistance disappears, the motor restarts and the contact resets. The RPL series covers thread, flange, adjustable shaft and shaft protection tube versions, each also available for high temperatures, for silos and bins in cement, feed, food powder, plastics and pharmaceutical plants.

Installation

• Horizontal mounting at 15° to 20° avoids material impact
• Use the high-temperature series above 80 °C inside the vessel
• Cable entry must face down with the cable gland locked
