Level Switch

Float Level Switch 506

Model 506

Float level switch 506 with a flanged holder, rope and common weight, carrying one to nine ABS, PVC, PP or 316SS floats with micro or reed switches. IP68 floats, pressure tested to 400 kPa at 20 °C, mercury-free.

Overview

About the Float Level Switch 506.

The 506 float level switch is a multi-point float switch for liquid level control, in which one or more floats hang from a flanged holder on a rope with a common weight unit. As the liquid level changes, each float swings and, at an actuating angle of 60° ±2°, its micro switch or reed switch changes state to give an ON-OFF signal. The switching point is set by the float position on the rope, and the choice of ABS, PVC, PP or 316SS floats lets it work in wastewater, sewage, seawater, acids, alkalis and oils in tanks and pits.

Features

  • One to nine floats per set on a single flanged holder with rope and common weight
  • Range adjustable by positioning the floats
  • Non-mercury switch elements that meet environmental requirements
  • IP68 floats, pressure tested up to 400 kPa at 20 °C
  • Anti-reversed impervious sealing
  • Micro switch (10 A 250 V AC) or reed switch (3 A 250 V AC) contacts
  • Low cost, easy to install and high reliability

How it works

  • Float: tilts with the liquid level and actuates its switch at 60° ±2°
  • Contact element: micro switch (standard) or reed switch (option)
  • Rope and weight: hold the floats in position below the flanged holder
  • Terminal housing: mounted on the flange, kept dry and out of the pit

Applications

  • Wastewater and sewage with solids or slurry
  • Seawater
  • Acids and alkalis such as HCl, H2SO4, HNO3 and NaOH (with PVC, PP or 316SS floats)
  • Light, heavy and turbine lube oils (316SS float)
  • Level control in tanks and vessels

Options

  • Float material: ABS, PVC, PP or 316SS (1.4571)
  • Weight material: ABS, PVC or PP coating, 304SS or 316SS
  • Rope material: PE, 304SS or 316SS
  • Connection: 3" or 4" ANSI 150 lb flange in PVC, PP, 304SS or 316SS
  • Housing: ADC with polyester epoxy paint (IP66, standard), PC (IP65) or ADC EExe T3
  • Cable length from 50 cm to 900 cm, or longer
