Capacitive Level Switch CLS

The Bont Technologies CLS capacitive level switch detects solids, powders and liquids at a set point in silos, bins and tanks. An induction rod measures the capacitance between the sensing rod and the vessel wall. When material covers the rod, the capacitance rises until it reaches the value set on the internal circuit; the circuit then generates a high-frequency resonance, which is detected and turned into a switching action. With no mechanical wear and no moving transmission parts, the switch suits food, feed, chemical, metallurgy and power applications, including high-temperature, high-pressure and strong acid or alkali locations.

• CLS-140 separation type: recommended where a vibrator is fitted to the tank or transfer line
• CLS-150 acid and alkali resistant: SS304 rod coated with PP or PTFE, 0–6 s delay, −20 … 200 °C
• CLS-160 steel cable type: −20 … 80 °C, customisable length, installed more than 300 mm from the vessel wall
• CLS-180 flat type: 40 mm insertion length, −20 … 200 °C, can be installed under the vessel
