Mechanical Dial Level Indicator
Model LI
Mechanical dial level indicator (LI series) for water tanks, reservoirs and suction tanks, using a float, rope and counterweight to drive a 300–1500 mm dial, with 1% FS accuracy, ranges up to 30 m and hot-dipped galvanised or epoxy-coated housing.

Overview
About the Mechanical Dial Level Indicator LI.
The LI mechanical dial level indicator shows the liquid level in water tanks, reservoirs and suction tanks on a large dial that can be read from a distance. A float on the liquid surface is connected by a rope over pulleys to a counterweight; as the level changes the rope turns a gear and shaft that move the pointer across the dial. It is purely mechanically operated, needs little maintenance and suits outdoor use with a mild steel housing that is hot-dipped galvanised or epoxy coated. The scale and range are selectable and can be customised to the customer's needs.
Features
- Large dial sizes from 300 mm to 1500 mm (12" to 60")
- Accuracy 1% of full scale; zero stability and repeatability ±0.5% of full scale
- Ranges of 0 … 3 m up to 0 … 30 m, or in feet; custom ranges to order
- Indication in metres or feet
- Mild steel casing with hot-dipped galvanised or epoxy coating for outdoor use
- Mechanically operated, low maintenance
- Optional back cover and luminous marking on the dial
- Optional 4–20 mA loop signal (24 V DC) for remote indication
How it works
- Float (PVC or SS316) follows the liquid surface
- Rope (nylon-coated stainless steel or nylon) runs over pulleys to a counterweight (brass, cement or stainless steel)
- Rope movement turns the gear and shaft (brass or stainless steel) that drives the dial pointer
Applications
- Reservoirs
- Suction tanks
- Water tanks
- Diesel and other storage tanks
- Water and other non-aggressive fluids
