Overview
About the WSDO4051 Wastewater DO Sensor.
The WSDO4051 wastewater DO sensor is a polarographic dissolved oxygen electrode for continuous monitoring in harsh water and wastewater conditions. It improves on earlier designs by using a 100 µm stainless steel grit mesh membrane in place of the standard silicone diaphragm. The electrodes are polarised by a constant voltage of 0.7 V; oxygen in the water diffuses through the membrane and gives up electrons at the electrode, and the resulting current change is converted into a DO reading. The sensor measures 0–20 mg/L with an accuracy better than ±0.1 mg/L and withstands pressures up to 0.6 MPa.
Features
- Polarographic dissolved oxygen electrode
- Imported stainless steel grit mesh membrane, 100 µm
- High stability and reliability for harsh environments
- Low maintenance, with calibration intervals over 60 days
- High pressure resistance up to 0.6 MPa
- PVC and 316L stainless steel electrode shell
- Choice of temperature compensation elements: PT100, PT1000, 22K, 2.252K and others
- 5 m cable as standard, other lengths on request
How it works
- A constant polarisation voltage is applied across the electrodes
- Dissolved oxygen diffuses through the stainless steel mesh membrane
- The oxygen gives up its electrons at the electrode, and the electrical change is converted to a DO reading
Applications
- Urban sewage treatment
- Industrial wastewater
- Aquaculture
- Environmental monitoring
