Overview

About the WSDO1001 Pure Water DO Sensor.

The WSDO1001 pure water DO sensor is a dissolved oxygen sensor designed for ppb-level measurement, with corrosion resistance and shape retention. It works on the polarographic principle: the electrodes are polarised by a constant voltage, oxygen in the water diffuses through the membrane and gives up its electrons at the cathode, and this electrical change is detected and converted into a DO reading. A silicone rubber permeable membrane backed by a steel gauze and a 316L stainless steel housing make it suited to continuous trace-oxygen monitoring in boiler water and power plant water circuits.

Features

  • Polarographic dissolved oxygen electrode for trace oxygen
  • Two measuring ranges: 0 … 100 µg/l and 0 … 20 mg/l
  • Accuracy ±1 ppb with a lower detection limit of 0.1 µg/l at 20 °C
  • Silicone rubber permeable membrane with steel gauze
  • Collision resistant, corrosion resistant, high-temperature resistant, with shape retention
  • Platinum cathode and Ag/AgCl anode in 0.1 M KCl electrolyte
  • 316L stainless steel housing
  • Drift below 3% per month, 60-day calibration interval
  • Sensor life of about 3 years

How it works

  • A 0.7 V polarisation voltage is applied across the electrodes (polarisation time > 8 h)
  • Oxygen diffuses through the membrane and gives up its electrons
  • The resulting current is converted into a DO value, with temperature compensation

Applications

  • Boiler water and condensate
  • Thermal power plants
  • Power plant desalted water
  • Other locations with trace oxygen content
