Overview

About the Hot/Cold Liquid Turbine Flow Meter CWM / HWM.

The hot/cold liquid turbine flow meter is a Woltman-type turbine water meter that measures the volume of cold or hot water passing through a pipeline. A turbine measures the velocity of the water; the volume is calculated mechanically from the known cross-section and shown in cubic metres on roller counters. In this horizontal-axis design the turbine shaft runs parallel to the pipe, and its rotation passes through a worm gear and a direct magnetic drive to a dry-dial register sealed from the water. The paddle-wheel form covers a wide measuring range with low head loss and starts measuring at small flows. Sizes run from DN50 to DN600.

Features

  • Dry-dial register with magnetic drive
  • Vacuum-sealed register keeps the dial free of condensation and the reading clear
  • Resists water hammer and pollution
  • Measures cold water (CWM, 0 … 50 °C) or hot water (HWM, 0 … 90 °C)
  • Inlet and outlet bearings designed to withstand hydraulic thrust

How it works

  • Turbine shaft parallel to the pipeline axis
  • Rotation transmitted through a worm gear to the dry-dial counter
  • Volume indicated on roller counters in m³

Benefits

  • Large flow capacity with small pressure loss
  • Removable element for easy installation and maintenance
  • Meets or exceeds ISO 4064 class B-H
  • Optional pulse emitter

Applications

  • Water purification and desalination
  • Water distribution networks
  • Effluent treatment plants
  • Industrial water lines
  • Wastewater systems and sewage treatment plants
