Overview

About the Doppler Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter LDF9100-EH.

The LDF9100-EH Doppler handheld ultrasonic flow meter from Bont Technologies measures the flow velocity and volume of dirty liquids in pipes from DN40 to DN4000. It works on the Doppler ultrasonic principle, which needs reflectors such as air bubbles or suspended solids in the liquid, so it is suited to sewage, sludge and slurries rather than clean water. The clamp-on transducers mount on the outside of the pipe, so there is no need to shut down the flow during installation, and the rechargeable battery makes it practical for portable flow surveys.

Features

  • Clamp-on transducers: no need to shut down the pipe flow when installing
  • Pipe sizes from 40 to 4000 mm (DN40–DN4000)
  • Flow velocity range 0.05 … 12 m/s, with good low-flow measurement down to 0.05 m/s
  • Accuracy 0.5 … 2.0% FS, repeatability 0.2% of reading
  • High-temperature transducer for liquids from −35 … 200 °C
  • Rechargeable battery for up to 14 hours of operation
  • 4–20 mA, relay totaliser and relay alarm outputs
  • IP65 handheld ABS transmitter supplied in a carrying case

How it works

  • Measuring principle: Doppler ultrasonic, using reflectors (air bubbles or suspended solids) in the liquid
  • Liquid requirement: at least 100 ppm of reflectors, with at least 20% of them larger than 100 micron
  • Clamp-on transducers mounted on the outside of the pipe

Applications

  • Raw sewage
  • Activated sludge
  • Ground water
  • Pulp and paper slurries
  • Chemical slurries
  • Drainage
  • Mining recirculation

Options

  • Output 1 and output 2: none, 4–20 mA, relay for totaliser or relay for alarm
  • Transducer: standard temperature or high temperature
  • Cable: 5 m standard; longer common and high-temperature cables up to 300 m
