Overview
About the Process Control Signal Surge Protector LP-V36 LP-V5 / LP-V12 / LP-V24 / LP-V36.
The LP-V36 is a signal surge protector designed for automation and process control instrument systems. Installed in the signal line, it protects the equipment on both sides, and its built-in arrester also suits transmission systems that use current loops. It absorbs the surge only, without affecting the instrument signal. The LP-V series covers rated working voltages of 5, 12, 24 and 36 V, with a modular housing that mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail and connects through terminal blocks with a built-in earthing terminal.
Features
- Built-in earthing terminal with strong wiring capacity
- Modular design for 35 mm DIN rail mounting
- High current capacity: 20 kA maximum discharge current (8/20 µs)
- Low output residual voltage
- Absorbs surges without affecting the instrument signal
- Flame-retardant nylon enclosure (V0)
Models
- LP-V5: rated voltage 5 V, Uc 8 V, Up < 50 V
- LP-V12: rated voltage 12 V, Uc 18 V, Up < 50 V
- LP-V24: rated voltage 24 V, Uc 36 V, Up < 80 V
- LP-V36: rated voltage 36 V, Uc 54 V, Up < 80 V
Applications
- Automation and process control instrument systems
- 2-wire current loop instruments
- Signal transmission lines
Installation
- For effective protection, the earth-link resistance must be below 5 Ω
