Overview
About the LP-TK Antenna Feeder Surge Protector.
The LP-TK series lightning protector unit is a coaxial surge protector for antenna feeder equipment and transceiver systems. Installed in series (tandem) in the feeder line, it uses a gas discharge tube (GDT) to divert surge radio-wave impulses to ground and so prevents damage to the connected electronic equipment. The protector combines a large flow rate and low residual voltage with a wide frequency bandwidth, a small standing wave ratio and low insertion loss, so it protects the line without degrading the signal. It is used at mobile communication base stations, GPS installations and microwave and satellite transceiver stations.
Features
- Large flow rate with low residual voltage: 10 kA nominal discharge current, voltage protection level below 1 kV
- Wide frequency bandwidth, small VSWR (≤ 1.2) and low insertion loss (≤ 0.5 dB)
- Choice of connectors for different feeder systems
- Standard interface, easy to install and replace
- Anti-riot design for safe, reliable operation
- Compact body, Ø 25 × 63 mm
How it works
- Connected in tandem between the antenna feeder and the equipment
- A gas discharge tube (GDT) between the signal line and ground conducts surge energy away from the equipment
Applications
- Mobile communication base stations
- Wireless local telephone systems
- Third-generation mobile communication (TD-SCDMA)
- GPRS and global positioning instruments
- MMDS microwave spread spectrum communication
- Satellite and microwave communication transceiver stations
