Overview

About the Biogas Analyzer System BGA-1000F.

The BGA-1000F biogas analyzer system is an online analysis cabinet that measures the concentration of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and oxygen in biogas and landfill gas. Its core is an online infrared analyzer: gas molecules such as CO2 and CH4 absorb in the infrared range, and the absorption intensity follows the Lambert–Beer law. Electrochemical O2 and H2S sensor modules can be fitted inside, so one analyzer measures up to four gas components. By tracking changes in these values, the system helps operators judge and alarm on the biogas generating process.

Features

  • Measures up to 4 gases: CH4 (0 … 100% vol), CO2 (0 … 50% vol), H2S (0 … 1% vol) and O2 (0 … 25% vol)
  • NDIR measurement for CH4 and CO2 with ±1% FS accuracy
  • Programmable auto drain and auto zero calibration
  • Sealed stainless steel cabinet suited to corrosive environments
  • Built-in 300 W heater prevents pipeline freezing and plugging when the inside temperature falls below 8 °C
  • 4–20 mA output and two alarm points per gas
  • Wall-mounted cabinet fixed with M10 bolts

How it works

  • Manual stainless steel ball valves cut off the sampling and exhaust lines for maintenance
  • A stainless steel needle valve sets the sample flow to 0.7 … 1.2 L/min
  • A PTFE gas–water separator removes liquid water and particles of 3 µm
  • A fibre ultra-filter removes particles of 1 µm and above
  • Normally closed 24 V DC solenoid valves evacuate water automatically on a schedule
  • The analyzer warms up for about 10 minutes before entering the measuring screen

Applications

  • Biogas plants
  • Landfill gas monitoring
  • Monitoring CH4, CO2, H2S and O2 in the biogas generating process
  • Industrial process monitoring and alarm based on gas composition
