Overview

About the Digital Pressure Transmitter SPD2.

The SPD2 digital pressure transmitter converts process pressure into an analogue electrical signal and shows the reading on a built-in LED display. It is a microcomputer-based instrument, so the pressure output can be customised through internal parameters. The sensor head uses a thick-film strain gauge on a ceramic piezoresistive element combined with a SUS316 stainless steel pressure port, covering ranges from −1 to 250 bar. Typical uses are air compressors, pumps, hydraulic machines and water treatment plants.

Features

  • Pressure ranges from −1 to 250 bar with 0.25% F.S. measuring accuracy
  • Thick-film strain gauge on ceramic, with SUS316 stainless steel wetted port
  • Selectable display units: bar, kg/cm², kPa, MPa, psi, mmHg and inHg
  • Memory hold for maximum and minimum values
  • 16-bit DAC analogue output, 50 ms response time
  • Bright red LED display with touch-switch parameter setting and non-volatile EEPROM memory
  • Protection class NEMA 4 / IP65

How it works

  • A ceramic diaphragm (Al2O3 96%) with a thick-film strain gauge deflects under pressure
  • The microcomputer converts the signal and applies the configured zero, span and output parameters
  • The result is shown on the display and sent as a 2-wire or 3-wire analogue signal

Options

  • Pressure range: −1 … 2 bar, −1 … 10 bar, −1 … 50 bar or 0 … 250 bar
  • Output: 4–20 mA 2-wire, 4–20 mA 3-wire, 1–5 V, 0–10 V or special
  • Pressure connection: ¼ in PT, ¼ in NPT or special
  • Cable: 2 m standard (3 conductors + shield, 28 AWG, PVC) or special length

Applications

  • Air compressors
  • Pumps of various types
  • Hydraulic machines
  • Water treatment plants and water works
